Some people collect watches, others collect shoes, other collect tokens from around the world. I collect bits of truth and practical knowledge.

The What?

One of my life goals is to create the knowledgebase and the methodology necessary to propel people towards the Self-Actualization stage of Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs as defined in his paper: “A Theory of Human Motivation.”(Amazon Link).  To get there I need 3 things:

1. A considerable, but achievable amount of the most important human concepts and principles that are useful, actionable and realistic.
2. A platform to share that information.
3. To be able to pass that knowledge on to people who are not naturally interested in it, or who think they are not interested in it.

I have spent over a decade turning these questions in my mind and discussing them with some of my close friends and family. Through this time, I have had the opportunity to: think of whether this goal is worth pursuing, whether it would be appreciated or accepted by society, whether I’m just crazy, or whether I should just not really care about this and focus on more tangible goals, you know, like money. But here I am, more fired up than I have ever been, because today more than ever before, I can feel it in my bones, that this is badly needed.

We are not starting from scratch on everything.

• I have several of these concepts already written and I’m working on turning them into books.
• In terms of a platform, there is a lot of work ahead. It’s not rocket science though, just requires to put in the work.
• When it comes to the third need (passing on the knowledge), this is a question that spent many years unanswered and probably looks next to impossible if you never thought about it. How can you teach something to someone who is not interested in learning it? But fear not, I have a plan!

The Why?

Simple. I thought about it, I tried to stop it, I tried to divert my attention from it, I tried seriously talking myself out of it… and I couldn’t. I just cant stop pushing to really get to the jist of things. Not the theory, not the politically correct view, not the ideal view, not the biased view, but the most accurate description of reality that can be produced. That’s my thing!

On the way, something became clear: this project is of immense proportions and will require an entire organization dedicated to seeing it through to achieve its maximal impact on society. Any books and essays I may write are just the tip of the iceberg. They’re just my way of kickstarting this vision, but it is very clear in my mind that there is not such a thing as doing this alone.
